2015 Chrysler 200 Gets Two New Interior Choices

2015 Chrysler 200 Gets Two New Interior Choices

Though the Chrysler 200 midsize sedan has steadily increased its sales over the last several months, the vehicle's designers decided to up the ante by offering two new interior designs from which to choose.

One of those new interiors is the deep, rich Ambassador Blue leather version in the 200S model. Other options available include black leather or black cloth with the Ambassador Blue leather trim. This package also includes heated and vented seats, along with a six-way powered passenger seat.

Owners of the 300C can choose a premium Mocha leather interior to go along with heated and ventilated front seats. There's also the option to go with a black or linen leather interior with the 300C. Other features of this package include a heated steering wheel, the heated and vented seats, a 115-volt power outlet and exterior mirrors with memory.

Both of these new interior options have the seats in either the Ambassador Blue or Mocha, surrounded by black trim in the doors, console steering wheel and seat belts.

"The Chrysler 200 is resonating with consumers looking for a car that delivers a timeless, elegant design, a great driving experience and is packed with features drivers and passengers appreciate," said Al Gardner, resident and CEO - Chrysler Brand. "By adding two new interior choices, the Chrysler 200 offers fresh options for the driver who wants a car that exudes a style not typically found in the mid-size sedan segment."

The additions have already been well received. Those who have reviewed the 2015 Chrysler 200 have commented on the high-end materials used to provide an elegant feel inside the cabin. Others have gone so far as to say the inside of this midsize sedan rivals that of far more expensive luxury vehicles.

Kelley Blue Book pointed out that Klaus Busse, the Chrysler head of interior design, sought to use furniture-grade materials on the inside, resulting in features such as real wood with an exposed edge on the dashboard.

"Gone are the days of straight lines and a dreary interior. Instead, curvy exterior styling is paired with an interior that could go up against any competitor in the midsize-sedan segment," Kelley Blue Book added in its review.

"Inside, this is a different Chrysler than we're used to," wrote Auto Week. "Every surface has been attended to, resulting in a comfortable, quiet respite with gorgeous matte wood accents, especially on higher trim levels. The adjustable, sliding center console cover/cup holder is Audi-grade, with premium hardware and a damped slider mechanism. Door panels feature soft materials top-to-bottom even on base LX trim models, while contrast stitching and muted copper accents lend a designer touch to nearly every surface."

The interior design has also removed unnecessary frivolities in exchange for an elegant, sleek and user-friendly cabin. The instrument panel includes two large dials in the front and center, along with an information display filling the space in between.

The center console of the 2015 Chrysler 200 was designed for style and functionality. Its sophisticated appearance includes a retractable panel that reveals a convenient storage area that is both ergonomic and space efficient. The climate controls were created to fit an American adult's hand and are placed on the console so they can be found easily while driving. The electric park brake, Rotary E-Shift dial and connectivity functions are also located in the console.

The seats are sculpted for maximum comfort and support. The driver's seat has eight-way power, including four-way adjustable lumbar support. The front seats are also vented and heated.

More attention was given to the steering wheel of the 2015 Chrysler 200, with certain 200 models featuring audio and available voice command controls, integrated paddle shifters and heat.

A USB input, Chrysler's Uconnect infotainment center, proximity key and four-speaker audio system are all standard on the Chrysler 200. The Uconnect system is widely regarded as one of the easiest to use in the midsize sedan class of vehicles.

Upper level 200 models offer Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hot spot compatibility, HD radio and upgraded versions of the Uconnect system with larger screens.

The interior of the 2015 Chrysler has also helped the vehicle win several awards. The Rocky Mountain Automotive Press named it Car of the Year, while the Texas Auto Writers Association dubbed it Mid-Size Sedan of Texas. It was also named to Ward's Top 10 Best Interior list.

The new Ambassador Blue and Mocha leather interior options added to the 2015 Chrysler 200 will have owners looking and feeling like they are driving a luxury sedan at a cost that is significantly lower. The interior not only looks good, it is highly functional. While taking very little space, it provides ample storage and easy access to all of the vehicle's controls.

Exquisitely crafted, the Chrysler 200 will have drivers looking forward to their daily commute.
